Student interest surveys to choose novels; anticipation guides to choose novels withint the room.

Activity or Strategy Description:
Takes 3-4 weeks. Students choose novels and work in small groups based on the same novels. Students begin to navigate novel choosing vocabulary to build word wall and translate L1 to L2. Use binders and graphic organizers to organize readings within group: Theme, characterization, plot, voice, tone, quotes, and so on. Chart paper to document reading and present out daily. End Assessment -- group creates graphic novel of their novel as a group and presents out. All work, binders, charts due for final assesment.
