Questions based on standard

Clearly defined standards
Activity or Strategy Description:
Whenever we cover standards, the students are given rest stop quizzes. These quizzes have questions that directly relate to specific parts of the standard. This has two benefits. One is I know quickly where the deficiencies are (The quizzes are five questions.) The second is that the students know what they need to work on. There is also a space on the quiz for reflections where the students identifies whether they got the question wrong because of a "simple mistake," i.e. misread question, math error, or a "thinking mistake," i.e. they do not understand. Deciding why they made the wrong answer makes this different. I can then use there to differentiate support work for the students immediately or the next day.
