Activity or Strategy Description:
One of the most important things for a student with an IEP is to understand his/er own needs and disability. Although I am still in charge of the actual IEP, I let my student take leadership in discussing all parts of the IEP. Not only does this allow the student to have a greater understanding, but he/she is also more accountable because the document and its contents mean something to him/her. Parents also enjoy that it is not a one-sided discussion of things they may not understand.
