1-paint stir stick (or any stick such as a ruler), ribbons glued to top, decorated.

Activity or Strategy Description:
Procedure taught with talking stick. The talking stick teaches kindergarteners how to listen to each other. During class meeting whoever is talking holds the stick. No one else is allowed to talk until the stick is passed. This also teaches them not to blurt out.
