Regional Induction Resource Specialist

With INTC, serving central and southern Illinois

After leaving the elementary classroom, Mary Ellen Leonard worked at the Champaign-Ford Regional Office of Education for 21 years. While at the ROE, Mary Ellen had the opportunity to coordinate many educational initiatives both locally and regionally. She was a state Social Emotional Learning Trainer and Coach and co-coordinated the development of and was a state trainer for the Gifted Education Seminar. One of her favorite responsibilities was planning and facilitating the Novice Teacher Support Project which provided networking and professional development to beginning teachers in partnership with the University of Illinois.

Since joining INTC, Mary Ellen has had the opportunity to work with University of Illinois Student Teacher Supervisors and has become a trainer for Charlotte Danielson’s Framework for Teaching.
