Summary Peer Assistance Review is an Evaluation system for new, nontenured teachers. It is a collaborative effort between the Union and Administration. Certified, tenured teachers (consulting teachers) conduct intense, frequent formative evaluations of new teachers. Evidence is reported to the PAR Panel, consisting of teachers and administrators, which votes to retain or release nontenured teachers. Results of the PAR program include greater growth of new teachers, and greater acclimation of teachers to the district. It also assists other administrators in evaluating new teachers. Finally, PAR serves as the Professional Growth Plan for tenured teachers receiving a Needs Improvement .
