6th Annual INTC Induction and Mentoring Conference

"Continuing the Continuum"
March 1-2, 2011
Hilton Springfield

The conference, titled “Continuing the Continuum”, dug deeper into the use of the Illinois Induction Program Continuum in new teacher induction and mentoring programs. The Continuum, unveiled at the 2010 INTC conference, was shared and examined in more detail, with an emphasis placed on using the Continuum in its second year. The conference offered learning and sharing opportunities for induction and mentoring programs, (from beginning to established), mentors, program coordinators, new teachers and administrators, especially principals, with a focus on keeping induction and mentoring going during difficult fiscal times. Sessions addressed the varying stages of program development. Critical Issues breakouts, an evening reception, and other conference sessions offered diverse opportunities for self-assessment and induction and mentoring program development.

Nearly 200 educators and policymakers from diverse contexts (urban, suburban, and rural) and all parts of the state attended the event.
