7th Annual INTC Induction and Mentoring Conference
"Staying Committed to New Teacher Induction"

District and school personnel can make a difference in a new teacher’s career, even in tough times. Quality induction programs accelerate new teacher development and assist new teachers in their knowledge, skill, effectiveness, and professional development, which, in turn, impact student achievement and success. This conference provided practical and standards-based ideas about induction resources, evaluation, program goals, and design. Conference sessions helped both established and new induction and mentoring programs improve, learn from other programs, and develop a network of contacts to pave the way for new teachers’ success.
Critical Issues breakouts, an evening reception, and other conference sessions offered diverse opportunities for self-assessment and induction and mentoring program development.
Nearly 200 educators and policymakers from diverse contexts (urban, suburban, and rural) and all parts of the state attended the event.
