2015 INTC Beginning Teacher Conference

The Illinois New Teacher Collaborative invites beginning teachers (all grade levels and content areas) who have just completed their first year of teaching in Illinois to the INTC Beginning Teacher Conference Y2: Moving Beyond Survival.

What:
A two-day conference with speakers, breakout sessions, networking opportunities, and more.

Who:
Illinois teachers (all grade levels and content areas) completing their first year of full-time teaching
Why:
  • An opportunity for new teachers to:
    • Reflect on and share the past year’s teaching experience
    • Network with other new teachers from around the state
    • Gain valuable teaching tools and ideas to use in their classroom next year
    • Hear the motivational speaker, Manuel Scott, Freedom Writer
    • Volunteer to share their own practice in the innovative Un-Conference: U-Teach session
  • A breakfast, two lunches, and a catered evening reception provided
  • Door prizes including an iPad mini
  • 4-star hotel on the University of Illinois campus
  • Cost:
    Registration fee is $75. Registration opens April 1, 2015. The conference includes one night's stay at the I Hotel (a $130 value), one breakfast, two lunches, a reception, and a chance at winning several door prizes, including an iPad mini. You must pay your registration fee at the time you submit your information for the conference. Incomplete entries without payment will be deleted.

    Attendees are responsible for the cost of their own transportation and any additional personal expenses incurred.

    This is a low-cost conference thanks to the generous sponsorship of the State Farm Companies Foundation and the College of Education at Illinois.

    CPDUs will also be available.

    Cancellation Policy
    In the event that you need to cancel your participation at the BTC, contact intc@illinois.edu or call 217-300-3130. To receive a 100% refund, notification must be received by 6/15/15. Refunds will not be honored after that date.
