In February 2013 INTC will present its 8th annual induction conference! This conference will offer suggestions on how induction programs can prepare new teachers and their mentors for PERA evaluations as well as support new teachers using various frameworks of teacher development, including  Danielson and the Illinois Continuum of Teacher Development. As usual, the conference will feature time to network and dedicated work time for programs, keynote speakers, and breakout sessions that provide insight into the various aspects of induction and mentoring. Along with standard conference strands, this conference will offer two special strands: one for districts that are starting new programs or are enhancing the current “buddy” mentoring process and another for small and rural districts.

  • Who: Induction and mentoring program coordinators, mentors, administrators, and higher education faculty.
  • What: A two-day working conference focused on implementing PERA in new teacher induction programs.
  • When: February 26 & 27, 2013
  • Where: Hilton Springfield, 700 East Adams Street, Springfield, IL 62701
  • Cost: Registration is $50 per person.  Hotel rooms are available at the state rate of $70 - $85 per night. Breakfasts and lunches are provided both days. Hearty hors d'œuvre will be served at the February 26th complimentary reception.
