Handling Complaints and Concerns about a Senior Colleague

Here's a tough question posed by a Y2 participant:
"How do you handle a situation where a senior teacher is the problem? Students complain to me and other about this teacher. The Administration cannot or will not let this teacher go."
Senior Teacher Problem
The first tip is to remain professional about the situation. It is always tempting to agree with the students and to make comments concerning the situation that may be true but not expedient. Depending on the nature of the problem, I would support the student(s) in any manner possible. For example, if it concerns content that I am knowledgable about, I would provide assistance. It really depends upon the nature of the complaint.
